My Big News
A year ago I thought I'd be lucky to sell 100 copies of Broken. When I'd really sit down and dream, I created a list of goals. Right in the top five was to be a good enough author to have a literary agent believe in me and sign me.
I'm so excited to announce my dream just became my reality. I signed with Stacey Donaghy with Donaghy Literary Group for Skipping Stones!
Thank you for your support over the last year. I wasn't that author in Broken. It was because of your feedback and reviews that I grew into the author that I am today.

Sunday Snippet - Saving Alex
We fell in love skipping stones, but then I had to skip out. With each city behind me and each new identity created, I lost a piece of myself, but never had I lost something so great until I left the small town of Graniteville, SC.
This is my story. This is our story. This is how saving Alex saved me.

Blurb:
They say there are five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
Not everyone will grieve in this order, nor will everyone go through every stage. It’s during the stage of denial when Alex Hart meets Andrew Foster. He takes her one-step closer to acceptance: the stage when new, meaningful relationships are formed. The stage when the realization occurs that this is now the new state of normal.
Just when Alex thinks she is on her way to healing, she enters the bargaining phase. That’s the phase where you wonder what you could have done differently. You wonder “what if?” Specifically, what if the ones you loved hadn’t left you?
Leaving…this is what makes heading off to war so difficult and frightening for Alex. She knows all too well what it’s like to be the one on the losing end of life, which is why she’s made it her personal mission in life to save as many lives as possible. The extreme high she gets from treating trauma victims turns into Alex’s own form of therapy, or so she thinks.
When faced with her world being turned upside down, Alex may just find that her true therapy is in the one who has always saved her.

A Note from me to you...

Okay, I suppose the cat's out of the bag now. I've debated long and hard about whether to post this, or not. But since the reviews are coming out, I felt like a response from me (an explanation) might be a good thing. It may also be career suicide. Who knows?
I was led to write something different than I usually write. I think I've mentioned that it's different many times, but was never specific how. I was scared to just come out and say, "Hey erotica lovers, I wrote a book with zero sex in it. Please go buy it." I wanted my words and my book to be able to stand on their own. I wanted people to be pleasantly surprised. I didn't want the sex to take away from the emotion that Alex felt. It's also a book about my grandparents. I wanted to know that I could sell it in the back of their (or anyone else's) church and it be something they'd be proud of. There are so many reasons why I did the book the way I did. I knew there would probably be backlash, and I expect it. Sometimes doing the right thing in your heart isn't always the popular thing.
Now, before you go put it on your 'do not read' shelves because there's no hot sex in it, please read this review. Let's face it, do people really read my books for the sex anyway?
I hope you'll help Skipping Stones reach others. The message is an important one, at least to me it is. When I started, yes, I wanted to hit New York Times or USA Today just like anyone else. Yes, I'd love to see it in stores (and the dreamer in me thinks about the movie all the time). But this book is not about the money or an accolade. It became so much more than that for me. So please know whatever happens with it, I'm good. I appreciate your support, and will always do my best to deliver a quality book regardless of the genre.

Her body inches closer. “I like that idea.” Soon our lips are so close. I lean in, and just before I kiss her an idea comes to me. “Ah. You want me to kiss you?”
“Uh huh.”
“How badly?” I ask as I use my fork to break away a morsel of the moist cake. “Enough to have a bite of this?” I bring it between our faces, right in front of her mouth. “Mmm. Better hurry before I take it...and that’d be no kiss for you.” I stare at her, refusing to break our gaze. “Five. Four. Three –”

The storm is easing up. These pop up summer thunderstorms can be scary. I know God isn’t an angry God. But sometimes I feel like storms are his way of just screaming at us. They are much like us. Our tears are the rain, our cries are the thunder, and the lightening is the sword stabbing us right where it hurts the most, setting us on fire. Nothing good comes from lightening other than the magical facade of it. It’s intriguing. It’s draws us in like a magnet. It excites us, yet scares us. It’s dangerous, yet entertaining. It’s all the things he was for me.

“Did you have a nice nap, Alex dear?” Memaw asks.
My voice cracks. My throat is dry, but I don’t want anything to drink at this point. “I did. Interesting how well you can sleep when you’re emotionally and physically exhausted,” I admit.
“No nightmares?” Papa interjects.
I shake my head. “Not this time.”
He nods. “Good girl.” I can see his lips curve into a smile. “Therapy seems to be helping you.”
I glance out of the window. I’m not sure that it’s the therapy as much as it is Drew Foster. The few times I don’t have nightmares have been replaced with dreams that consist of white horses, carriages, glass slippers, and a certain prince charming. The thought makes me smile. “Sure,” I acknowledge. Maybe it’s the combo. I’ll let them believe what they want. I’ll believe what I want. The true therapy is Drew.

Resenting Me Release Date December 2013
Resenting Me Synopsis
One look at the beautiful Hawaiian flower dancing on stage at his buddy’s strip club and Pyro’s world changes. He’s lost, captivated, head over heels. He tries to stay away, resist her charms, but he just can’t find the strength to do it. Instead, he hires Hazel and Winter as entertainment for the Breakneck President’s thirtieth birthday party, unknowingly putting the girls’ lives in danger.
Hazel convinces Winter to take the Breakneck gig so that she can get closer to Pyro. Playing the temptress to the max, Hazel appears on stage wearing white angel wings, and little else, drawing Pyro in to where she wants him. Needless to say, they both get very little sleep that night.
One night together making love until the sun comes up and these two are in too deep. But this is the Breakneck world, and sunrise brings gunfire and bloodshed. Time brings Winter’s abduction and brutal rape. Hazel’s guilt burrows deep, and she pushes everyone away. She is resenting herself for convincing Winter to enter this Breakneck world. She is resenting Pyro for ensnaring her heart.
This is the story of Pyro and Lana. It is simply the story of how, sometimes, love just isn’t enough.

I glance over to Drew, our eyes meet as he is leaving the room. I don’t want him to go. I put my hand out, but he doesn’t take it. “Don’t go.”
He hesitates. “Remember...I’ll find you.” He smiles.
I nod.
“Take a nap. I’ll be around. I’m not going anywhere.”
I look to Papa to try to read his expression. It’s softened from the last time he saw Drew. I’m not sure if it’s concern for me, or what. “Thank you,” I whisper.
“Anything for you, Alex.”

Cover Reveal for Katie Mac's Searching for Tomorrow
Synopsis
What happens when you find the one person who completes you, and then life conspires against you? How do you set your grief and anguish aside? How do you pick up the shattered pieces, put those pieces back together again, and try to move on?
Katie and Tripp met on the playground the first day of third grade when Tripp tried to rescue Katie from Zack, her twin brother. A lifelong friendship that later blossomed into love began that day.
Broken beyond her own ability to repair, Katie boxes her grief up and attempts to raise her three girls the best she can on her own. As time slowly passes, Katie relives her times with Tripp while struggling most days to even get out of bed. She is reminded of him at every turn.
Zack is Katie's twin brother and was Tripp's best friend. Having lost his own love, he dedicates himself to helping Katie put her life back together. Throw in a mother-in-law who torments at every turn and poor Katie can't even find a chance to breathe, much less a desire to somehow search for tomorrow.
Author Interview
Tell us 5 surprising things about yourself.
At the moment, I have a makeshift office in my pantry! If need be, I can shut the door and cut off part of the noise. I hope to have a more permanent space soon.
One of your favorite quotes.
To whom much is given, much is required.
Random things about my novel.
Just a bit of nonsense. I am Kathryn Anne, and my two sisters are Rebekah Elizabeth and Sarah Margaret. My husband is Channing, and my son is Zachary. One of my daughters is Elizabeth, and I still have to work my daughter Brittany into the book. Highlands is my most favorite place in the world to go when my soul need refreshing. Last, but not least, I actually had a great-grandma Tiddy!
Flirting Questions
What does love feel like?
Warm, fuzzy, secure, safe, sheltered
How did you meet your significant other?
In the lobby of the bank that I worked in. I was on all fours under a Christmas tree tightening the screws in the base. What can I say? Baby got back!
If you could take a romantic trip, where would it be?
Any trip I take with Hubs is romantic. One of his favorite things to do is to whisk me away to wine and dine me.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Absolutely! Ask me how I feel about my grandson Grayson!
- I am a PK. If you know what that means, then you know what that means.
- I have always wanted to be a red head with long, beautiful corkscrew curls.
- No matter what I’m doing, I would rather be outside, day or night, hot or cold, rain or shine.
- I was awarded two separate scholarships when I graduated high school. One was a teaching fellowship and the other was for writing.
- I love to cook, almost as much as I like to eat. I spent a couple of years as a private cook for a local family and loved every minute of it.

About the Author
About this author If you are reading this, I think you should know that "About me" sounds so very pretentious to me. I guess that is what I am supposed to write about, so here it goes!
Katie Mac is a simple country girl who likes to spend time with her hubba, hunka hubby, her three kids and her friends. She loves to cook and really loves to eat! During the spring and summer, you will more than likely find her outside puttering around in her garden. When the veggies start coming in, she will probably be sweating over a hot canner in the kitchen, canning all the goodies she is blessed with. Katie likes to hike and go camping, and as a Girl Scout leader, she gets to do this pretty often! On cold winter nights, you will probably find her wrapped in a warm blanket, lost in a good book, while sitting in her rocking chair on the front porch!
Katie was born and raised in North Carolina, and while she loves to travel, she can't imagine ever leaving the mountains that she has come to call home. Not a day goes by that Katie doesn't thank God for abundantly blessing her. He has been so good to her, and she is very grateful. She holds Jeremiah 29:11 very close to her heart and believes it with every fiber of her being. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Katie loves flip flops, chocolate, sweet tea and dirt between her toes. As far back as she can remember, she's had a book in her hand. Reading has carried her to places she will never go. It has introduced her to people that she will never meet. When life is great and when it is rough, she's always been able to find a book to carry her through. She finally decided to write down some of the stories in her head (yes, be scared) and heart after dawdling around and wasting years dreaming. She hopes you enjoy reading those stories as much as she loves writing them!
